the brief
This client needed a project management application that tracked furnishing suppliers.
The application needed modules for bidding, budget and accounting as well as reporting for each aspect within a project.

← about this screen
A workflow showing the steps through a typical flow from creating an item in the database to the invoicing and the possible routes throughout the process.
← about this screen
This sitemap lays out screens including the admin and project areas.
the approach
Research and comprehension of the entire furnishing process was important in order to layout the proper order.
Items were created, placed into purchase orders, then sent to vendors with possible bids in between and change orders to follow up.
Invoices were then created to cover payment to the vendor and collect payment from the client.
Testing the application would happen throughout the design and development process. The client and client’s staff were the target users, so testing through them worked well.
← about this screen
Items are created in the database so they can be placed on purchase orders and sent to vendors in order to procure the items.
the result
With multiple variances of steps along the way and a quick development cycle, the client and I decided on a simple UI based on bootstrap. The navigation follows the typical flow while the addition of steps along the way are housed within the main sections. (‘Bids’ fall under ‘Items’ and ‘Change Orders’ fall under ‘Purchase Orders’).
← about this screen
Items can be selected and grouped to create a purchase order. This will be sent out to a vendor to order the items.
